Large, Multi-Home Design Project, Large Budget

Gale Schrag, the developer of Summit Ridge, a multi-family housing community in Westminster, Colorado, was looking for an interior design firm that could create a sense of invition, of belonging. That’s why he chose Red Chair Designs.

Roxann Lloyd of Red Chair Designs worked closely with Gale for a year on the project, choosing all the finishes in the entire development – from exterior paint colors, to the lighting and flooring options, to envisioning and designing Summit Ridge’s model homes.

In order to fulfill Gale’s vision of a welcoming community, Red Chair Designs intentionally opted for a darker, more vibrant exterior paint colors as opposed to the traditional Colorado “muted tones”. The firm also created different looks for both traditional and urban homebuyers.

For the “traditional” resident, Red Chair Designs created the Evergreen home, featuring a warm color scheme of golds and greens, with touches of deep reds and umbers as accents. The model furniture selected was both elegane and traditional in style.

In contrast, the Redwood model was designed to appeal to the younger, more urban homebuyer: warm tan accents for blues, off-whites and dark-stained woods and clean-lined, functional furniture.

Both models created a comfortable and welcome living space. In fact, many Summit Ridge visitors commented that they’d love to move into the model homes exactly the way they were.

Says Gale, “I highly recommend the services of Red Chair Designs. Roxann Lloyd is superb at helping both current homeowners and developers create a unique and memorable look.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” bg_position=”left top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” top_padding=”30″][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Married, Kids, Mid-range Budget, Creative Ideas

Roger and Casey Hess approached Red Chair Designs for creative help in redoing their basement. Casey needed a home office for a new business, and the growing family wanted to add a kids’ play area, an exercise space, and a home entertainment area.

Since the Hesses love the outdoors, Red Chair Designs suggested a “mountain lodge” theme. Roxann Lloyd used naturally-stained, light pine built-in cabinets to help create both the office space and entertainment area. She also encouraged a money-saving choice: dark rust slip covers instead of buying new couches.

The sofas were then repositioned in an L-shape to accomodate both easy television viewing and intimate conversations. The arrangment formed an implied wall, separating the newly-designed exercise space from the home entertainment area.

Red Chair Designs encouraged Casey’s own vibrant creativity in envisioning the play room. Roxann assisted her in choosing a “living alphabet” theme that could grow along with her young children.

Roger then used his own cereativity as well: He painted letters on the wall, and then glued large dolleyes on them. Mirrors, buckets of toys, tents and tables were all used to create a fun space for children.

The Hesses are thrilled with their basement remodel, and excited that Red Chair Designs could help them implement their own creative ideas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” bg_position=”left top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” top_padding=”30″][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

College Student, Small Design Project

Denver financial planner Charmaine Duke wanted her son, Aaron, to have an extra-special first apartment, yet faced a daunting obstacle: As a college student, Aaron had a limited budget.

Roxann Lloyd of Red Chair Designs had creative solutions for Aaron’s challenges. As Charmaine enthusiastically writes:

“Red Chair Designs made all the necessary changes while keeping within the meager budget allowed. The creative ideas Roxann came up with amazed me, and now showing my son’s apartment is a source of pride for both of us.

She used posters as artwork, and then put down artificial turf as a creative way to protect the carpet (which my son thought was wonderful). She also had a coffee table made of two old snowboards the centerpeice of Aaron’s house, and the very first thing he shows of to friends.

Roxann also found amazing consignment furniture that was well-taken care of yet affordable, perfect for a college student.

My son’s apartment now matches his personality, and he says it makes him feel grown up. I cannot recommend the firm highly enough to work with anyone, in any budget range. Red Chair Designs truly listens to what their clients want, and finds creative ways to do that without maxing out their finances!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” bg_position=”left top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”center” top_padding=”30″ bottom_padding=”30″][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
